I started reading the Incredible Hulk in the late 1970’s and while Herb Trimpe did a great job on the comic, Sal Buscema will always be the best Hulk artist for me. His artwork on issues 300-330 really defined what the Incredible Hulk looks like for me. There have been a lot of other great artists on the book but Sal during his early run will always and I mean always be the best. I really want a big splash page from the run but have not found one I can afford yet. I did stumble across this page on eBay and while it is not a splash, it is a great page so I jumped on it. It has great art by Sal and inks by Ernie Chan. It has the Hulk carrying his friend Jim Wilson and has an amazing transformation scene. Love it. But some day I will own a Sal splash, oh yes, one day.
There is a new Avengers movie tv spot called ‘Headcount’ which features a great new scene of the Incredible Hulk jumping into the side of a building and smashing some enemies. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the Hulk awesomeness.
In anticipation of the upcoming Avengers movie and the toys Lego is releasing in association with the movie, Lego recreated the Avengers movie poster almost to perfection. This is the first time we get to see the Hulk’s face on the new Lego toy and it looks pretty darn cool, I really can not wait to get the Hulk set. The post mentions www.lego.com/avengers but as of today, there is nothing at that page.
I know you are all as excited as I am to see the upcoming Avengers movie to see how much the Hulk will rock in it and now AMC theaters are putting together a special event to help with the excitement. In some selected AMC theaters around the country, they will be having an Ultimate Marvel Marathon featuring all the great Marvel movies since Iron Man which of course includes the very under-rated Incredible Hulk movie from 2008. The cost is $40 and includes all the movies including the Avengers premier at midnight plus the special 3d glasses. Unfortunately, there is no showing near me but click this link to see if you are lucky enough to have a showing near you: AMC Marvel Marathon.
Ever wonder what would happen if the Hulk would get romantic with a porpupine? Yeah, not me either but here is a toy that shows you would what happen. This is a new toy coming out called a Wibbly. There is also a Spider-Man, Captain America and Iron Man version that have the same look as this. All I can say is interesting…..very interesting. Nuff said.
The second season of Avengers: Earth’s Mightest Heroes! debuts on April 1 on Disney XD at 12:00pm EST! For myself, I know I am anxiously awaiting this cartoon to return. Over the years, Marvel has had some okay cartoon series (X-Men and the Hulk cartoon from the 90’s are examples) but honestly DC has always had better cartoons (except of course the manga Teen Titans) but the Avengers: EMH has finally taken Marvel cartoons to a new high level. The writing is amazing, the artwork is fantastic, and the heroes and villains are characterized perfectly. I love how they weave actual comic book stories into the series. This is an incredible version of the Hulk in the series. Not just a dumb “Hulk smash!” Hulk but one with some basic intelligence who can make some snarky comments when needed. Love it when he is in the program. The scene when MagnatronGraviton was using all of his power to keep down the Hulk and the Hulk manages to stand up: pure genius. Anyways, here is the trailer for season two and it looks like there will be plenty of Hulk but it looks like there will also be an episode with the Red Hulk.
WonderCon 2012 was this weekend in Anaheim and there was an announcement at one of the Marvel panels on what the upcoming Red Hulks storyline. Jeff Parker’s “Hulk” will deal with the Mayan prophecy of world Armageddon, bringing Red Hulk together with Machine Man and Alpha Flight in a story illustrated by Dale Eaglesham.

Not much in the way of new Hulk stuff but a bunch of new scenes in the Japanese trailer for the Avengers movie. Some better shots of the aliens and the best thing is a great shot of the Helicarrier taking off from the ocean. How can you have an Avengers movie without a Helicarrier. I would have embedded the video into this post but my Japanese is a little rusty so not exactly sure how so here is the link.
Out of all of the Hulk figures that Hasbro has released so far for the Avengers movie, this is the best sculpted. It is also the largest figure, about 10 inches tall. Not a lot of articulation but the figure looks good. If you push the button in the center of his chest or squeeze his legs together, he says a number of phrases including:
“Hulk smash Thor”
“Hulk ready for fight”
“You want more?”
