There is nothing like knowing there is a figure out there and hunting around until you finally find it. Even better though is going to the store and finding a figure you didn’t even know was coming out. I don’t even remember seeing anything about this Hulk figure but was glad I stopped at Target today. Not that it is the best looking Hulk figure but it is pretty cool. There have already been a couple Transformer type Hulk figures but this is the smallest. As opposed to the other transforming figures, this one is just basically two steps to change from the robotic Hulk to a tank. It also has rev action so you pull it back in tank mode and it moves forward and changes back into the Hulk. Was released in the Avengers line of action figures.
Hot Toys from Japan makes the most detailed and accurate high end action figures (course they are kinda pricey too though). They have already shown pictures of Nick Fury and Black Widow from the movie and now they have shown the best character from the movie, the Incredible Hulk. Here are some first pictures of what the figure is going to look like. Not sure about price yet (maybe around $400-$450) but it should be up for order soon. I will post the details as soon as it comes up.
We all know that the Avengers was the best movie ever made and that the Hulk stole the movie from everyone else. Come on, who didn’t laugh when he punched Thor. Well Sideshow Toys have an amazingly well sculpted statue of the Incredible Hulk which perfectly captures the Hulk likeness from the movie. You can even see Mark Ruffalo in the statue’s face. It is up for sale now so click on the picture below and order it now!
MTV News caught up with director Guillermo del Toro who said that the Incredible Hulk tv show is still on. Here is what he said:
“I have had a couple of minutes with Marvel since ‘Avengers,’ and they have the screenplay,” he said. “We’re waiting for a particular writer to do a rewrite on the pilot. That’s where we are right now. But we’re still on.”
With that being said, del Toro is clearly a big fan of Whedon’s work on “The Avengers.” It’s always nice hearing others with more powerful voices than ours state their love for the “Buffy” and “Firefly” creator, so it was a pleasure to hear del Toro gush about Marvel’s ensemble superhero film.
“I think ‘Avengers’ is beautiful because you give a movie like that — that size, that scope — to a guy that has the tone and the pulse of those things dead on, and that’s beauty or curse, you know?” del Toro said.

It has been confirmed that Mark Waid and Leinil Yu will indeed be the new team on the upcoming Incredible Hulk NOW book. Mark is a classic old school story type of writer, definitely gives the story substance instead of flash so I am really looking forward to seeing what he does on the book. I am curious to see what the whole Hulk and Agents of S.M.A.S.H. factor into the new book. Leinil Yu did some great work on the Ultimates books he did so I am hoping he has that same style for this book.
Rumor is going around that Mark Waid will be the new writer for the re-re-re-launch of the Incredible Hulk comic book under the Marvel NOW banner. Rumor also has it that Leinil Yu will be the artist. Waid has done some great writing for the Fantastic Four and Captain America books so I am confident he can get the character going in the right direction. Not sure about Leinil, his art can be really hit and miss for me. I am hoping for hit if he does come on to the book.
Old Man Logan was a very cool future “What-if” storyline in the Wolverine a few years back that featured the Hulk and his family. In the very end of the book, Wolverine killed the Hulk along with the rest of the Hulk’s family and ends us adopting a Hulk baby. Well now Hasbro is going to have a Marvel Universe Old Man Logan and Hulk baby as a NYCC Digital Comic Exclusive. Who would figure I would be trying to track down a baby Hulk figure. Wolverine’s face does not look the best but it is kind of a neat add that they have green blood on his hands and claws.
Marvel had a separate panel on Marvel TV news at SDCC and Joeph Loeb talked about the upcoming Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H tv show. Here is what he had to say:
The next Marvel animated series will be “Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.,” Loeb said, calling Hulk “the breakout character of ‘Avengers.'” “We thought it would be good to be able to show Hulk as a hero,” he said. Loeb, who launched the Red Hulk and ultimately extended the Hulk family, showed test footage of the upcoming show, which features Hulk, Red Hulk, She-Hulk, and A-Bomb.
The Hulks, including Skaar, fight bug beasts and other monsters, ending with the rallying cry “Time to smash!” The show will debut in 2013.
I am definitely hesitant about the tv show as the title alone looks a little cheesy. And given that the comic book is going to be modeled after the cartoon it seems like, it makes me nervous for the comic book also.
After the initial day, Hasbro has put out more action figures including a Savage She-Hulk Marvel Legends figure, the Lyra version of the She-Hulk that is. Lyra of course is the daughter of the Incredible Hulk. Pretty good looking action figure.
