Planet Hulk the Next Incredible Hulk Movie????

Thanks to the ever vigilant Smashin’, we get this awesome soundbite from Kevin Feige, executive producer at Marvel Studios, when he was interviewed by MTV:

“I don’t think there’s a lot that we couldn’t do someday, as the cinematic universe continues to grow and expand and get as big as the comic book universe.” “‘Planet Hulk’ is a cool story. ‘World War Hulk’ is a cool story. I think there’s pitfalls of continuity-overload, and mythology getting so dense that it almost collapses in on itself,” he added. “It happens every few decades or so in the comics. Apart from that, I’d say everything is on the table.”
“Do I think Hulk can carry a movie and be as entertaining as he was in ‘Avengers’? I do believe that. I do believe he absolutely could. We certainly are not even going to attempt that until ‘Avengers 2. So there’s a lot of time to think about it.”

Avengers 2 doesn’t come out until another 3 years so if that is how long it takes to get a Planet Hulk movie, I am more than happy to wait. How completely awesome would it be to get a Planet Hulk storyline. My mind would be blown.

Sideshow to Release Grey Hulk Comiquette Statue

After releasing a green Hulk comiquette (with really bad hair), they re-released it again as the Red Hulk and it looks like they will be re-releasing it again as the Grey Hulk. While the grey version looks better than the green version, the hair is still just not quite right. Since the Hulk is landing after a jump, his hair should show some movement. Not sure on timing but there is a production sample up on eBay right now.

My Incredible Hulk Tattoos

Obviously I am a big fan of the Incredible Hulk, have been for 37 years. I decided a few years back to get a tattoo. Given that Sal Buscema will always be the best Incredible Hulk artist there ever will be so it was easy to decide to use one of his images for my first Hulk tatoo. He has done some great images in his historic run on the Hulk but the first page splash to issue 206 has always stood out in my mind. Got it on my right leg about 6 years ago.

A couple years ago, I was inspired to get another tattoo. The Planet Hulk-World War Hulk storyline was amazing. It brought back the Hulk book after it had been kinda bad for a few years. Gary Frank had a great run on the Hulk awhile back and he came back during the World War Hulk storyline and he did an amazing cover. I knew I had to use this image for my next image. Had it done on my back, took three trips to get it done.

About six months ago, I got my third Hulk tattoo. I used a panel from an issue of the Hulk comic with art by Dale Keown but more importantly was the words by Peter David. This little panel helped me get through a rough period of my life and I really wanted to have a tattoo of it. The words are more important than the image.

More Dale Keown Incredible Hulk artwork A + X #1

You know you just can’t get enough Dale Keown artwork and this has been a great week. First it was Dale’s variant cover to the last issue of the current Incredible Hulk comic book and now a sneak peak of Dale’s artwork from his upcoming story in A + X #1. The story is about the Hulk and Wolverine versus Old Man Logan and Maestro. Wow, Dale will draw two versions of the Hulk in one comic. That is what the world incredible really means. In Comicbookresources Friday edition of Axel-in-Charge, they showed the sneak peak of the artwork from the upcoming issue.

Dale Keown Variant Incredible Hulk Comic Book Cover

Marvel loves their variant covers (exactly how many variant covers did the Loeb-McGuinness Hulk comic book have??) and this is a peak at the variant cover to the last issue of the Incredible Hulk comic book before it ends and comes back as The Indestructible Hulk. Not always keep on variant covers but this was done by Dale Keown, one of the best Hulk artists there have ever been, so any excuse for Dale to officially draw a Hulk is okay with me.

Red Hulk to Lead Thunderbolts Comic Book

Marvel has announced the Thunderbolts comic book will be coming by written by Daniel Way and illustrated by Steve Dillon. Except this time the comic is based on a black ops team organized and run by the Red Hulk with the team including Venom, Punisher, Elektra, and Deadpool. The Red Hulk is of course really General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross so the name of the comic is appropriate.

Incredible Hulk finally appears in Avengers vs X-Men #11

After issues and issues of the Avengers and X-Men fighting each other, the Avengers finally realize what they need to do to bring this fight to an end: bring in the big guns, namely the Incredible Hulk. This is the panels showing Captain American finally approaching the Hulk and asking him to join the fight. Go out and get Avengers vs X-Men #11 now!

Avengers Initiative Incredible Hulk Mobile Device Game for iPhone and Android

Coming in September, Marvel will be releasing a mobile game for iOS and Android devices called Avengers Initiative. Marvel’s “Avengers Initiative” sends the Hulk up against a group of escaped super-powered prisoners, on the lam thanks to the Pulse power blackout that hit the world in the Facebook game “Marvel: Avengers Alliance.” Villains include Wendigo, Skrulls, and Zzzax. Game will cost $6.99 and will be based on a swiping action. The cool thing is that users will be able to get alternative costumers include Planet Hulk, King Hulk, and Fear Itself Hulk. Take a look at the trailer above and the screen shots below. For a full article on the game, click on this article at Comicbookresources.
