Incredible Hulk TV Show at Risk? Ahhhhhhh!!!!!

Is the Incredible Hulk tv show actually going to happen? Sounds like it might be at risk due to the SHIELD tv show being developed. Guillermo del Toro gave an interview to Shocktilyoudrop and said the following:

“Right now all I know is the official word I was given is that there’s a writer they want. They are very interested in me meeting with him. He’s very, very busy,” del Toro told ShockTilYouDrop. “The official word is we are holding, but I don’t know… After ‘Avengers’ having the success it had, perhaps the fate of the project may change. Right now officially what I know — and I’m not hiding anything off the record or anything — is that we were told we were waiting for this writer, and we were going to do it with him.”

  1. How long will the new writer will be free to rewrite the pilot script? January and Febraury is time of the year were all the pilots get greenlight.

It’s been in development for two years now and is yet to be greenlit, think with the success of The Avengers it would kick into higher gear.

  2. They said he’s supposed to meet the new writer in the coming weeks but why this writer? is he worth holding up a project?

  3. At this point the show has a excellent chance at being canned if they can’t fit a CGI Hulk on a TV budget and schedule, if they keep holding out for the new writer the show will not be made.

  4. Del Toro says Hulk show is inactive
“Right now, all I know is we’ve been in a holding pattern for the last eight months. All The say is we’re waiting on a writer, but it’s been inactive. It’s still there as far as I know, but there’s been no action on it.”

  5. Del Toro has so many projects on his lap some of them never happened. We have to wait and see what happens when the new writer comes in, are they gonna try and have tied to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? if thats the case Del Toro may end up leaving because Marvel couldn’t concur with what he wants to do with the show.

  6. Would you all prefer a loose contiuation of the Bixby/Ferrigno show, it worked because it just featured Hulk/Banner no other characters from the comics who let the movies down.

    • I think in order to be popular, it will need to incorporate bigger villains. Maybe not the standard comic book supporting cast, but they would need bigger than life villains than just thugs and bullies like the original tv show.

  7. Think at this point Del Toro has a excellent chance at leaving the Hulk project, when you have someone who can’t do the project because he’s busy with other stuff give the job to someone else, like he stepped down from the Hobbit after two years of being hired as director.

  8. Del Toro updates on Hulk: I had one more meeting after Avengers with Jeph Loeb from Marvel and he said, “We’re working on it, we’re waiting for a writer,” he gave me the name of the writer and their resume and I said, “That sounds great, let’s wait for him” because we had delivered a teleplay and I haven’t heard since then.

  9. To why the Hulk show is not top priority due to The Avengers is a mystery, I don’t think the delay is that they’re wanting for technology to catch up so they can do a CG Hulk on television.
