I have to admit that I am not much for Twitter but the fact that artists tweet artwork from books they are working on is awesome. The first issue of the Indestructible Hulk with art by Walt Simonson is still a few months away but Walt has been posting some of the pages he has been working on. As a collector of original comic book artwork, I love seeing the original art before it has been colored. Here is another page Walt just tweeted today.
In case you weren’t paying attention, the Avengers movie actually got an Oscar nomination. The digital effects company ILM was nominated for Achievement in Visual Effects for their work on the Avengers movie. They are going up against The Hobbit, Life of Pi, Snow White, and Prometheus. Hoping they can pull off the win, the movie deserves it for being the highest grossing movie of the year. ILM has released a couple of videos showing how they developed the Incredible Hulk effects, take a look and be amazed!!
PBS is doing a series of shows called Pioneers of Television which focus on different genres of early television shows and the starts who were in them. On Tuesday January 29, 2013 at 8 pm, they will have an episode called Superheroes and it will feature an interview with Lou Ferrigno from the classic and awesome Incredible Hulk tv show.
It looks like Walt will only be the artist on the Indestructible Hulk comic book for three issues based on a tweet he did recently. He will probably just be doing the Thor related storyline in the book. Not sure if Leinil will be returning, I don’t think he knows either. Here is Walt’s tweet:
@neilofski @leinilyu After three issues, I’m outa here.

The variant version of Bowen Design’s new Incredible Hulk statue has started shipping and some people have already gotten theirs. This was an exclusive to the Bowen website and limited to 1250 statues. Take a look at the pic below and see if you don’t agree that this is the best Incredible Hulk statue that have ever been made. It is just massive and the whole design and face remind me of the Hulk back in the early 80’s. This statue is just……wait for it……INCREDIBLE!!!!
Sideshow Toys released a green Incredible Hulk comiquette statue a few years ago and then released a Red Hulk version last year. And now they are releasing a grey version. The statue is the same as the green version except the color of course and the head sculpt. The green sculpt has a Hulk with a really bad haircut so this is at least an improvement on that first one. This is limited to only 500 statues so click on the link below and order one now!
It’s only been announced that Walt will be drawing some issues of the Indestructible Hulk and he is already tweeting some pages that he has drawn and even a sketch of the Hulk holding Thor’s hammer. Yes, you read that right, the Hulk holding Thor’s hammer. Can’t wait til the issue is here to see if it really happens or if it is just Walt practicing. I am sure if the Hulk does lift the hammer, you will be hearing people talk about it!
Alright, I have no idea why I even bought this. I have limited myself to just Hulk and Hulk-related action figures and this doesn’t really fall into the category. This is a Hulk Widgets Wind-up toy where you use the little Marvel key to wind up the Hulk from the back and his arms go up and down. Found it for $5 at Target. Darn you impulse buying!
