Incredible Hulk 262 Comic Book Cover Printing Plate

Every once and a while, you get lucky and come across a cool collectible that is just fun to look at. Being 12 years old in 1981, I still remember the cheesy ads in the comic books with mailaways like x-ray glasses or sea monkeys. This is the printing plate that was used in printing the cover to Incredible Hulk 262 and the back cover. Just having the printing plate for a Hulk cover from 1981 is way cool but having the other side being all the weird mailaways is even better. Most printing plates were destroyed after they were used so not sure how this one survived but I am glad it did. Definitely a different kind of collectible, I wouldn’t mind having a few more of these.

  1. Very cool. I love the history of comics and how they were made. I would love to see a show on how comics were made back when something like this was used. Everything is digital now and done on a PC and printed – very different from year ago. Great addition to your collection!
