Peter David has had a long career in comic books and he has done some great, amazing work but then again I might be a little biased because he did such great work on the Incredible Hulk comic book. Comic book resources put a short article together of Peter’s greatest accomplishments over the years which of course includes his work on the Hulk comic book and actually calls out specifically Future Imperfect on it’s own as an accomplishment. When Peter came on the Hulk comic book way back when, Marvel wasn’t really sure what they wanted to do with the character and he had just been kind of pushed to the back of the company. Peter David came along and took the character in unexpected directions and really made the Hulk book a book that everyone had to read. Take a look at the article: Peter David
From Kathleen David, comes this update from yesterday:
He went into the Florida Hospital in the Cardiac Care Unit as they try to ascertain what exactly happened. They did an MRI about midnight along with some other tests. They came to the conclusion that it was not a heart attack but a stroke and moved him to the neurology unit where he is now.
As he stated, he has lost most of the use of his right arm, his right leg is incredibly weak, the vision in his right eye is blurry, and the right side of his face is drooping slightly. But the brain is there with all its quips and quick retorts. He has had the nurses laughing a lot.
Today we figure out what the next step is and where it is going to happen. Tonight the New Year Begins and for us it is a very different beginning than we thought we were going to be having.
Continued prayers and thoughts go out to Peter David and his family.

Besides the awesome Incredible Hulk sketches I was able to get at Heroes Con, this years show was also special because Stan Lee was a special guest. I had to take the opportunity to get the special package to get a picture taken with Stan and to get his autograph. Friday night I was able to go to the Heroes are Hard to Find comic shop and listen to Stan tell stories and answer questions. On Saturday, I was able to get my picture taken with him. It was done in a rather assembly line manner, moving people through as quick as possible, but I completely understand. After the picture was taken, I was walking away and told Stan that he was the man. He replied “damn right I am.” Classic Stan. The next day I took the picture that was taken and had him autograph it. Opportunity of a lifetime.
The comic world lost another great artist yesterday, Ernie Chan. For those who don’t know who he is, he was a penciler and inker who worked for Marvel and DC in the 70’s and 80’s mostly. He worked on Conan, Dr. Strange but for me, I will always remember his time working as inker with Sal Buscema in the early 200’s of the series. That was when I first started to really collect Hulk comic books and the look and feel of the Hulk at that period will always be “the” look of the Hulk. Ernie Chan will be missed and I will always appreciate what he did to help make the Hulk looks so incredible.
